..they gon get us all
IS IT BIGGER THAN HIP HOP?
Not much is, so like, sorry Taylor Swift we going to have to interrupt you here because Hip Hop IS bigger than you.
And oh, sorry George Bush, we going to have to interrupt you here too because HIP HOP is bigger than terrorism and it has you entirely figured out!
Too late they have. Hip hop has always been a very forward thinking genre of music and has been ahead of the pack for years. When Ye gets on stage in defense of it, after a white girl who is somewhat unknown at this point from Nashville gets up on stage to take an award that had people from the genre of hip hop in the category. Well, can you blame him? He had the balls to do it and he doesn’t care what people say about it, because he doesn’t care about those who wouldn’t understand it.
Ye was not “picking on a 17 year old girl, because she was a 17 year old girl,” he was just standing up for the brilliance of hip hop
which exceeded Taylor Swift’s talents as an artist (and still does) at that point in time by far. Hip hop deserves Ye’s voice and support, it can’t speak for itself or maybe it can?
Kanye West
Ye is like the modern day Suge Knight.
He witnesses an injustice on hip hop music and black culture and he creates victims in the name of it and rightfully so. Including, if the injustices are being committed by black people too. No race or group is safe if they being ignorant or corrupt in Ye’s eyes.
”….all you blacks want all the same things, used to only be ni%%as! Everybody playing. Spending everything on Alexander Wang. NEW SLAVES!”
But to him its worth it, hip hop music is WORTH IT. And in YE, I trust.
Look at this performance on SNL 10 years ago. He sampled a Marilyn Manson track at the beginning and if this performance doesn’t make you fall in love with Kanye or at least the diversity of the hip hop genre in general….then nothing will. ha:
Ye has done a lot for hip hop, but one important thing he did was bring performance back (maybe for the first time at this scale) to the genre.
Which was an element missing from the hip hop to a large degree, but it was going to take a very special and unqiue artist to be able to pull it off. Well we got it.
Yeezus, an album by Ye, is a 30 minute piece of art work that you can listen to.
I recommend you do that from start to finish if you never have.
Next, let’s talk about the top hip hop artists that rise above the rest at the moment, this is by me and is only my opinion obviously, but if not these two artists then you tell me who?
Future and Gucci Mane of course.
FUTURE
I just need my girl
I just need my girlfriend
I bought a couple Hublots like I'm pushing heroin
I bought a couple coupes I bought a couple Panameras
I'm acting like a Freeband Gang terrorist - Purple Reign//FUTURE
I don’t know much about Future’s personal goings on, but when I love a music artist I tend to not involve myself in any technical or personal details about them, I judge them by the music and the art and that’s all I take from them. Future, is a top artist today in the genre because he rests on his laurels. He is a trap artist ALL THE WAY and makes no apologies for it. He is also aligned heavily with new hip hop all the way and also doesn’t come close to making apologies for it.
HE IS NOTHING LIKE 2PAC, which is a good thing. This is a good thing because, we don’t need another 2pac, we had 2pac.
Hip hop is a great genre of music because it doesn’t make apologies and it doesn’t look back
it evolves and just keeps on growing for better or for worse. However,it experiments too, which is standard for anything evolving gracefully and to aid in it’s growth.
It also has a natural evolution about it also, because it doesn’t come from privilege. It adapts and learns to use what it is given in order to create and this puts Future and hip hop in general, ahead of the rest.
It’s just being what its meant to be, which at heart is protest music, a genre that gives a minority a voice. Using mostly God given tools to portray this voice.
Future will never lose his ungodly tool given to him of Auto-Tune, he so obviously loves (and so do I), lacing his vocals with the sound every single track, why? Because he is making TRAP. (and hip hop artists that have this “got nothing to lose so here I am and this is my life” attitude that is a heart and soul of hip hop, make so many albums a year. They lay them down one after the other like its as easy as doing your washing. GO have a look at Waka Flocka Flame’s discography. (Gucci Mane’s counsin and renounded trap artist in his own right). They live and breath making hip hop, they are the ultimate heart ad soul of the genre.
Trap is auto-tune and auto-tune is a beautiful musical tool that has not lived up to its full potential yet, but the white people hate it. I don’t know why though, white people would need to utilise it more than black people. You know, being not as good at music as black people are, generally speaking.
i never like you an album by Future HENDRIXX 2022
They got that Gucci Mane, Future, Metro Boomin, The Weeknd, Nicky Minage, Rhianna, Freddie Gibbs, Drake, Tyler the Creator/Frank Ocean and Kanye West. Verses white people who got Ed Sheeran, Eminem, Justin Beiber, Taylor Swift, Billie Eillish, Lorde and Britney Spears (i guess).
There’s no comparison and no competition, the innovation goes to hip hop obviously, the determination goes to hip hop and the passion goes to hip hop artists. It is the best genre of music next to pop, wait, worded different, it is the most IMPORTANT genre of music.
Artists like Future, are at the top because they don’t care what you think about the genre. When you have a determination and knowledge of trap like Future does, someone who lives and breathes it and embodies trap so naturally,
The fuck the police, because it doesn’t matter what white people like, it’s not about them and this is what I see Future representing for hip hop music.
I recommend his album’s (he has SO MANY), Hendrixx, Purple Reign and Beast Mode. All of them are very high quality trap, aka new hip hop/true trap albums that are what “no apologies” are made of.
Even after being sued a bunch for the title of Purple Reign, he ended up winning, I think. It was rocky for a while there, the album would be available one minute and suddenly unavailable the n
ext on streaming apps for years. However, currently it’s available so looks good.
Purple Reign is one of my favourite RnB/Trap tracks ever made, it’s a classic Future hit and on my top 10 songs of all time for sure.
I Love when he goes more RnB, he is very good at it and this makes him hella diverse.
Magic City Mondays, where the dancers choose the hip hop we listen too. <3 Heaven.
“Magic City on a Monday, we treat this shit like a Sunday.” Diamonds on me dancing FUTURE/DRAKE
This is a true NEW hip hop statement and why I love Future.
GUCCI MANE
coming up next in part 2…
