I will post that video up along with Cycle 5 volume 2 of 2, still making it Cycle 3, overlapping with Cycle 5.

Nick Cave’s public persona is steeped in mystique, intellectualism, and a kind of dark romanticism that resonates deeply with many people. But like any public figure, especially one as guarded and complex as Cave, there’s a gap between his public narrative and his private reality.

My personal experience with Nick Cave is only through my very close relationship with his son Jethro Cave. Nick Cave has decided to start acknowleding Jethro’s death publicly and this creates a problem for me. If Jethro, is to have some kind of public legacy, let it be by someone who knew him best before he died, at least.

Jethro and I, for the majority of our relationship, when he wasn’t in jail or trying to assimilate upon my paradise (or vice versa), were for six years forming a bond that neither of us ancipated to become so strong, nor as unconditonal as it turned out to be. This was mainly because when I met Little Jethro, quite early in the relationship, probably by chance, but was for the best, or I may not have hung around as long as I did in the beginning. The beginning was hard.

Meeting Little Jethro, early into the situation, allowed there to be light shed upon dimensions of Jethro, that without this occcurence, I may not have seen. I recognise, that it’s important though, to navigate this reflection carefully, especially considering the impact such revelations could have on both Nick Cave’s legacy, and the people who have admired him for his art for so long.

My insights coming off as maybe attention seeking or pety. But that’s only if you are a heartless troll. Because. if you know me, you should understand I have grieved Jethro every minute since I saw that he was dead, in a headlines of a news article at Google.com. This marking the absolute end to Jethro and Danica. My mind went straight into problem solving mode, “what can be done about this. How can I fix it?” Sounds ridiculous now, but that’s what happened. Albeit to say, I found it very hard to accept for a long time, maybe I still haven’t.

My last conversation with Jethro, which was a really fucking good one, thankfully. Not that it matters, either way I loved him and never had stopped loving him, and he told me he loved me within the context of our last conversation also. I told him he had inspired me to listen to the new last Jonny Cash album properly, and he, almost involuntarily proclaimed love for me, later in the conversation. However, these very mature and kind exchanges between us, were not our usual rhetoric. I’m glad they were that night.
